Setup guide

Set up IPTV on any device

Most people are watching within ten minutes. Pick your device below, follow the steps, and message us if anything looks different on your screen.

Before you start: your login details

After your order is confirmed, you’ll receive a welcome email with your login in up to three formats. Most apps only need one of them:

  • Xtream Codes login — a server URL, username and password. Works with most modern players and gives the best TV guide experience.
  • M3U playlist link — a single web address containing your full channel list. Useful for VLC and simpler players.
  • Portal URL — for MAG and Formuler boxes, linked to your box’s MAC address.

Keep these details private. Your login is tied to your number of connections, and sharing it publicly can get it suspended.

Amazon Fire TV & Fire Stick

Fire TV devices are the most popular way to watch IPTV in Canada — inexpensive, quick, and easy to move between TVs.

  1. From the Fire TV home screen, open Find → Search and look up an IPTV player app. Ask support which player we currently recommend for your Fire TV model — it changes from time to time.
  2. Install and open the player. When asked how to add your service, choose Xtream Codes login (sometimes called “Xtream API” or “Login with username”).
  3. Type in the server URL, username and password from your welcome email exactly as written. The playlist name can be anything you like.
  4. Wait a minute or two while channels, movies and series load for the first time. After that, the app opens straight to your lineup.

Tip: Use the 5 GHz Wi-Fi band, or add an inexpensive Ethernet adapter — it’s the single biggest improvement for a Fire Stick.

Android TV, Google TV & Android boxes

Includes Chromecast with Google TV, Nvidia Shield, Sony and TCL TVs with Google TV, and most Android set-top boxes.

  1. Open the Google Play Store on your TV and install an IPTV player. Popular choices include TiviMate and IPTV Smarters Pro.
  2. Open the app and choose to add a playlist using Xtream Codes.
  3. Enter the server URL, username and password from your welcome email, then save.
  4. Let the guide (EPG) finish loading, then pick a channel. In TiviMate you can add favourites to put your most-watched channels first.

Tip: If the guide shows “No information”, open the app’s settings and update the EPG once after the first install.

Samsung & LG Smart TVs

Smart TVs use their own app stores: the Samsung Smart Hub (Tizen) and the LG Content Store (webOS).

  1. Open your TV’s app store and search for an IPTV player. Ask support which player works best on your TV’s model year.
  2. Some players let you sign in directly with your Xtream Codes details — enter them just like on other devices.
  3. Other players show a MAC address or device key on screen. Send it to support and we’ll link your subscription to the TV for you.
  4. Restart the app once activation is confirmed, and your channels will appear.

Tip: Older smart TVs can be slow with large lineups. If your TV is more than five or six years old, a Fire Stick or Google TV device is often smoother.

Apple TV, iPhone & iPad

The App Store has several solid IPTV players that work across Apple TV, iPhone and iPad.

  1. Open the App Store and install an IPTV player that supports Xtream Codes or M3U playlists.
  2. Choose Add playlist → Xtream Codes and enter the details from your welcome email.
  3. Alternatively, paste the M3U link from your email if your player prefers it.
  4. On Apple TV, turn on “Match frame rate” in Settings → Video and Audio for smoother sports.

Tip: Some players sync between your iPhone and Apple TV, so you only need to type your login once.

Android phones & tablets

Watch on the go, anywhere with a good mobile or Wi-Fi connection.

  1. Install an IPTV player from the Google Play Store.
  2. Add your service using the Xtream Codes details (server URL, username and password).
  3. Mark your favourite channels so they’re a tap away next time.

Tip: Streaming on mobile data uses roughly 1–3 GB per hour in HD. Choose a lower quality in the player when you’re away from Wi-Fi.

Windows & Mac computers

Handy for watching at your desk or on a laptop while travelling.

  1. Install a desktop IPTV player, or use the free VLC media player.
  2. In VLC, go to Media → Open Network Stream (on Mac: File → Open Network) and paste the M3U link from your welcome email.
  3. Open the playlist view to browse channels. For a full TV guide and catch-up, a dedicated IPTV player works better than VLC.

Tip: Plug your laptop into the router with a cable when watching 4K.

MAG & Formuler boxes

Dedicated IPTV boxes that connect using a portal address and the box’s MAC address.

  1. Find the MAC address on the sticker under the box (it starts with 00:1A:79 on MAG devices) and include it in your order or send it to support.
  2. On the box, open Settings → System settings → Servers → Portals.
  3. Enter a portal name and the portal URL we send you, then save.
  4. Restart the box. It will load the portal and your channels automatically.

Tip: Formuler boxes use the MyTVOnline app — add the portal under “Connections”, using the same URL.

Something not working?

  • “Invalid login” or “Authorization failed”: re-type the details by hand — copy-paste often adds a hidden space at the end.
  • Channels load but won’t play: check you aren’t already streaming on the maximum number of screens, then restart the app.
  • Not sure your internet is fast enough? Run our free IPTV speed test on the device you watch on.
  • Buffering or freezing: restart your router, switch to 5 GHz Wi-Fi or a cable, and clear the app cache. Our buffering guide covers this step by step.
  • Empty TV guide: refresh or update the EPG in the app’s settings and give it a few minutes.
